Everything seems to come back to the Holy Grail and/or Templars at the moment.
I finished reading a graphic novel called Heaven’s War (published by Image Comics) and it’s supposed to be about Tolkien & C. S. Lewis (of Lord of the Rings and Narnia fame respectively) et al and a writing group they have back in their Oxford don days. Theories of time, theology, the Knights Templar, Merlin and Albion and even Aleister Crowley are also part of the mix. They’re all hunting for the Holy Grail.
It definitely begs a rereading. But I started another one, Ring of Roses, set in roughly present-day London, except that the Church (that being the Roman Catholic faith) still has a tight fist over rulers of State. Oh, that and the bubonic plague is back. Some bloody good stuff. So far, I think I prefer this to the aforementioned graphic novel, but that could be because the setting is more familiar to me.
I really ought to go back and test my new eyeshadows or something. And finish T. H. White’s The Once and Future King.
