I got an e-mail today from a fellow writing friend, and she’d made a comment about the miniblog being a bit more positive than the blog proper, plus I got some wonderful news from an overseas pal so I thought I’d give this positive thing a bigger shot.
So…my overseas pal is currently undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer and she’s not much older than I am. It seems ridiculous that one could get such a thing so early in one’s life but the good news is that her body is successfully fighting off the malignant growths. This is indeed fantastic news! Even her specialist was surprised at her body’s resilience.
What else? Last night, I was watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and to my shock, Jarvis Cocker, lead singer of the British band Pulp, was in the band for the Hogwarts Prom. How cool would that be? Having Jarvis sing at your school dance. Even better, Jonny Greenwood, guitarist and composer from Radiohead, was the lead guitarist in the band. You’d have to have some magic up your sleeves to get cool people like that at your school dance.
Thirdly, I’m on my fat arse simultaneously watching Sex and the City and it’s the episode with David Duchovny, of X-Files fame. He’s ace. Oh, and my dear cat is sitting next to me.
Truthfully, not doing so crash-hot but I’m trying. When life…hands you your heart straight out of a mincer, stuff it in sheep intestines and make sausages. Ugh. Perhaps I should take one of those nice, luxurious baths and tomorrow I’ll wake up feeling a bit better.
