The last few days have been horrendous, ugh. Hence, my apologies dear O for not yet replying to your e-mail, I promise I shall!
But today, things were starting to feel slightly normal, and I don’t really have the mental energy to do anything, so I’ve decided everyday for the rest of the week, to muck around with my makeup, and if that means wearing inappropriate shades, so be it. It’s not permanent, I can always take it off. And seeing as my MtG Ravnica cards have yet to arrive, why not.
So my apologies if this bores anyone to death, do try to remember that I’ve been known to have some semblance of a brain when well, ha ha.
Today, I roadtested all MAC items.
Botanical eyeshadow, a grey-brown neutral which anyone could wear.
Iris Print eyeshadow, a light purple/lilac that looks like it was rolled in a vat called ‘death by glitter’.
Summer Lily blushcreme, warm orange-peach cream to be used on cheeks (on the face!).
So Botanical was applied all over my eyelids, as a base. Then, Iris Print is put on top but in the inner corner of the eye, petering out towards the middle. Lastly, Plum Dressing eyeshadow, not one of the new items, was applied at the outer corner of the eye and blended again towards the middle. My blending was pretty appalling but the combination works. It also helps exaggerate the natural contour of the lid. This makeup stuff is very artful, seriously. Oh, and Plum Dressing is this rich, shimmery royal purple mixed with burgundy, kind of a purple-maroon mix. It has a slight metallic finish or sheen to it.
I’m not keen on Botanical or Iris Print. I’ve got something better and similar to the former, and glitter just fell everywhere after applying the latter. As for the blush - it doesn’t really show very well on my skintone, which is odd given that I’m fairly pallid. I think I may have made some bad choices in forking over for these items…what will tomorrow bring, I wonder? Definitely lipgloss - anyone notice, I didn’t list one, as I chose not to wear one. How odd for me.
EDITED to add some links to the named suspects, in case you’re actually wondering what the hell these products look like.
Here is Botanical eyeshadow;
then Iris Print eyeshadow;
last eyeshadow is Plum Dressing.
The blushcreme used was Summer Lily.
Now you’ll be spared my inadequate descriptions, I’d forgotten about this online product gallery.
